06 December, 2001: "The forgotten verse..."By Kathy Kinsley "America the Beautiful" is our national anthem, despite what the 'official' song may be. The second verse is not often sung, but it does more to show the American attitude than any other in that song. It goes like this: O beautiful for pilgrim feetLet us remember that verse. We in the US need to take a long look at ALL the policies of our government. That is not unpatriotic; it is, in fact, the very basis of American patriotism.
