Wow. There’s a legal weapon in London!

Garden Gnomes!

There’s hope for the Brits yet… .

(Oh, and if you read that article and think of a rather less-known trilogy by Terry Pratchett… you weren’t the only one.)

Anything can be a weapon.

Cafeteria Owner Stops Robber With Fries

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands – A Dutch cafeteria owner used piping hot french fries to fend off a gun-wielding would-be robber, police in the southern city of Helmond said Friday.

Fries, or “frites,” are a national snack in Holland and Belgium, where they are deep-fried in oil and then salted and eaten with mayonnaise and chopped onions.

It was not known if the culprit, whose age was estimated at 16, was burned. He had threatened the owner and his wife with a handgun Thursday night, police said.

“He wanted money,” a police report said. “But once he had hot frites coming his way, he decided he had had enough.”

I love it.

Crime victim strikes back

Minutes after four young men robbed a Hiltonia resident of $1,500 cash Sunday night and threatened to rape his teenage daughters, one of the suspects lay dead under the victim’s sport utility vehicle on nearby Route 29.

The unidentified young man was killed after he jumped from his car and began shooting at the SUV driven by Robert O’Neal, 54, who had given chase.

O’Neal ran him over, police said.

“I didn’t mean for this to happen,” O’Neal said yesterday, fighting back tears. “I’m a single parent with two daughters. They had my credit cards, my wallet. They knew where I lived.”

He did the right thing. I hope someone tells him that.

What a splendid idea!

A Chortle From The Den……..

That too-tightly-twisted-turban-crowd™ may control a great deal about life in Iran, but the idea contained in this post from the new ActivistChat Blog, if spread all around Iran and implemented by all those who desire freedom from the enslavement by the mullahs and ayatollahs might just be the one thing to upset those thugs in headwraps.

Imagine being tumbled from their high perches by pocket change! There they would sit with their millions of diverted funds in their Swiss bank accounts, but the economy crumbling before their eyes for the lack of more than a few coins and small bills.

Let us ALL support The Pasheez Project and spread the word around!

Quote of the day.

Found in the comments to a post at a small victory, by ‘Iron Fist’.

Almost anything can be used as a weapon. Training, knowledge and intent are the real weapons. Everything else is just a force-multiplier.

Remember that, people. If that message gets through to just one person in a position to do something, many lives could be saved. Training is very helpful, but even without training, knowledge and intent can often be enough. Remember the story I linked long ago about the guy who used a loaf of bread as a weapon. Look around you, get creative, find at least 5 things within reach that you could use as a ‘force multiplier’. I’ll bet you’ll surprise yourself. Learn to think that way all the time and you’ll never be defenseless.

Man assaults woman with alligator

Heh. Not a very safe weapon. Evidently he was swinging it at her. Probably by the tail. Would have served him right if the alligator had turned and taken a hunk out of him. But I did think using an alligator as a weapon was a unique idea, to say the least.
