What he said:

Why the world should stand back and let Israel do what it has to do.

Update: I have changed the link above to the gentleman who wrote it. It appears that Israpundit may have posted an e-mail pass-around without mentioning it as such. (If I had know it was a pass around, I would have gone hunting for the original and linked it. Sigh.)

You know, it doesn’t help if you have a tsunami warning system and don’t use it.

Hmmm…

The Christian idiots in Ireland remind the Muslim idots (worldwide) that they don’t have a monopoly on ‘religious’ violence.

(Note: if you drop by to defend either group, you are, by definition, one of the idots I refer to.)

Note to the Solipsist[1] Muslims in Malaysia

This cartoon is not insulting your prophet. It is insulting some of his followers. Specifically the ones who, like you, are going nuts over cartoons. I think you each should be told some facts. YOU are not your prophet. Your prophet is long gone. YOU are just a nutter who thinks no-one should be allowed to say anything you don’t like. Get over it already.

[1]Solipsism: The theory or view that the self is the only reality. (Which is, I believe, a heresy in Islam.)

The article that inspired this rant is here. Thanks to wits0 for the link.

Cartoons update

If you’ve been following the controversy closely, you’ll know that there were some fake (and much more insulting) cartoons added ( by the group who went on tour to drum up outrage) to the ones that Jyllands-Posten actually published. One of them has been traced - turns out it isn’t a cartoon at all but a picture of a man in a pig-squealing contest.

Now, if it turns out it was actually the touring “Imams” who faked this picture, will people riot against them and threaten them with beheading?

Sometimes, intolerance is a GOOD thing.

Iran tells West to be tolerant of Holocaust views

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s denial of the Holocaust is a matter for academic discussion and the West should be more tolerant of his views, Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman said on Sunday.

I think the phrase “just say no” applies to that request…

Victor Davis Hanson - And Then They Came After Us

I don’t quite agree with the title meme (from Martin Niemoeller statement that starts “First they came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out,” and ends, “And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me.”) - because, unlike those who were murdered by Hitler’s bunch - we still stand. (Excepting perhaps Spain, which essentially surrendered, and the Philippines, who did the same.)

But I agree completely with the subtitle, which is: “We’re at war. How about acting like it?” And the article itself is one of his best.

The Philippines Becomes Scrappleface!

You could say this is satire in the best tradition of Scrappleface, but it isn’t. Philippine President Arroyo has tossed her husband out of the country to hide him from corruption allegations.

Jun 29, 2005 — MANILA (Reuters) - Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo moved dramatically on Wednesday to reduce pressure on her government from graft allegations, saying her husband had agreed to leave the country.

She did not say how long her husband, Jose Miguel and known widely as Mike, would remain abroad. Opposition lawmakers have said he, the couple’s son and other family members were involved in payoffs from gambling syndicates, but nothing has been proved.

Her husband has also been accused by the opposition of helping Arroyo try to fix the results of last year’s election in telephone conversations with an election official.

“Today, my family is once again called to sacrifice our personal happiness to allow me to serve best as president of our country,” Arroyo, her voice cracking with emotion, told a business forum in Manila.

“My husband has volunteered to go abroad. I mention this here today because I want to signal to everyone that nothing can stop my administration from implementing … our reform agenda.”

Volunteered? That’s rich, as I said it borders on being satire. It also gives “Mike” an opportunity to stash any US assets from prying legal eyes. One note of advise to the Philippine customs department. Better give “Mike” a complete inspection on his way out of the country. There’s no telling how much may be secreted out under the guise of “personnel papers.”

On a more serious note, Archbishop Oscar Cruz advised President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to “just go” and “there is life after the presidency.”

That’s most likely true, the question is will that life be behind bars.

Sick.

Fred Phelps is at it again. This time at the funeral of Cpl. Carrie French, killed in Iraq (it seems God hates the US military as much as he hates fags – at least according to this bunch of idots).

Via Instapundit, who quotes the same thing I’m about to quote:

I went over to take some pictures of the asshats, and get a closer look at them. I can report that they appeared to be mono-gastric, bi-pedal, and carbon-based; other than that, I really couldn’t see even a glint of humanity in their eyes.

I’m glad I wasn’t there. I’d probably be in jail for assault and battery (at least). I have a bit of a temper. (Note: I DO like what the firemen did… subtle but effective.)

This must be stopped.

The Great Ground Zero Heist

The World Trade Center Memorial Cultural Complex will be an imposing edifice wedged in the place where the Twin Towers once stood. It will serve as the primary “gateway” to the underground area where the names of the lost are chiseled into concrete. The organizers of its principal tenant, the International Freedom Center (IFC), have stated that they intend to take us on “a journey through the history of freedom"–but do not be fooled into thinking that their idea of freedom is the same as that of those Marines. To the IFC’s organizers, it is not only history’s triumphs that illuminate, but also its failures. The public will have come to see 9/11 but will be given a high-tech, multimedia tutorial about man’s inhumanity to man, from Native American genocide to the lynchings and cross-burnings of the Jim Crow South, from the Third Reich’s Final Solution to the Soviet gulags and beyond. This is a history all should know and learn, but dispensing it over the ashes of Ground Zero is like creating a Museum of Tolerance over the sunken graves of the USS Arizona.

This is appalling. I found the link to it at Vodka Pundit’s site. Needless to say, he also wants this stopped. I suggest we make sure this travesty is known to everyone in the US. If you are a blogger, please blog about this. If you aren’t, please e-mail that article to everyone you know. Thanks.

QOtD - Cry Me a Tigris Edition

“Sadly they are dealing with my father as if he were not human. My father has girls, and his girls have children … his grandchildren … so they should consider the human side.” - Raghad Hussein, Daughter of Saddam, speaking about her fathers “Fruit of the Loom” photos. And she continues:

“They think that my father has a lack of concern for human rights, but regardless of the details, the Americans should be humanitarian in dealing with his family, because we are human. Saddam has three young ladies and they have children, I have five and Rena has four, and Hala has two … Therefore, our father is very dear to us … His grandchildren love him a lot. Why aren’t humanitarian factors taken into account?

She continued by saying that her son Ali is 20-years-old, and said to her, “Oh mother, this is to be expected. It will be bad for them before it will be bad for us.” As for the rest of the children, Mrs. Hussein said, “their eyes were filled with questions. Why is all this happening to us? Why at this moment, does the whole world is see us as the big enemy.”

She demanded that the Americans consider that Saddam Hussein has daughters and grandsons that are affected by what happens to him. She described her father as having loved the people and his family. “He is a kind father and cared very much about every detail of our lives.”

Can there be a better example of the phrase, “the Devil is in the details?”

Raghad Hussein’s selective memory has forgotten a couple of important details that illustrate Saddam’s care for his family. Raghad and sister Rana are both widows thanks to a brotherly slaughter believed to have been organized by Rana and Raghad’s brothers, Uday and Qusay, at Saddam’s request.

And by the way Raghad, just how is life in Jordanian exile? Have you read the latest Danielle Steele bodice-ripper yet?
