Gators are gray.

Michael Yon has a great post about alligators, and ‘facts’ that aren’t. (Hat tip to Bill Ewing for sending me the heads-up on this one. )

  1. I think the latest Florida gator census came up with 1.7 MILLION of the critters, which is a few too many for the turf, I think. Here in our Panhandle neck of the woods, the Mobile Bay Estuary alone has it’s own population count. As of last year…FORTY THOUSAND gators. Forty THOUSAND. That’s just an incomprehensible number of big mouths with large teeth.

    And of course they’re not green. {8^P
