I just donated $100.01 to a charity for Hurricane Katrina victims. I chose the Salvation Army because they bring hot meals - and after Charley hit, I would have killed for even an MRE. And we were in far better shape than those hit by Katrina - we had food - just not much that wasn’t canned.
Why the “.01″ on the end? Because skippy the (capital challenged) bush kangaroo has a challenge out. As he said, “this is not about red states v. blue states…this is not about left v. right…this is not about liberal v. conservative…” See if we can show him what the non-left can do.
And the wolf and babalu? Just like a fundraiser - get a gift for your gift! Laughing Wolf is offering signed prints and Val at the Babalu Blog is offering t-shirts.
I’m not really going for either of the latter two - but you can. Another thing about the Salvation Army - they probably have a store near you. If you can’t afford to give cash, maybe you have some clothes or other things they can sell? Or perhaps you need some inexpensive clothing or items - that’s another way to give what you can.
Update: See also Instapundit’s Katrina Flood Aid blogburst - there are a lot of good links there.

hey, kathy, thanks so much! i appreciate your help!

The Salvation Army (SA), since my time in the military, has always been my favorite national charity. The Red Cross has become too political and the SA has not lost their way from the path cut for them by its founders many years ago.
