Steyn on Old Glory:

Don’t worry, Old Glory can take the heat.

Indeed it can. This latest silliness passed by the House really indicates it’s time for them to take a vacation. Let’s hope the Senate has more sense.

Hat tip to the Daily Pundit, who calls this sillyness “nitwittery” (good word choice, there), for the link.

The symbolic free speach decision was wrong. An act that is legal can not be made illegal because of political content, neither can an illegal act be made legal because of political content.

I am sure the nation demonstrates its strength when its flag is soiled, burned and destroyed by those who hate everything this nation stands for. Yes lets nuture vipers at our beast and say to ourselves we are stronger and freer because of it and so tolerant. We shall repeat these things as the Qusilings put us in re education camps and gulags. And for those who say it will not happen I am sure the Founding Fathers could imagine a time when the Supreme Court would sanction government seizure of property to enrich the few at the expense of the many.

In the meantime the Congress can get back to vital work like apoligizing for lynching and determining how much water our toilets use.
