A Growl From The Den……..

For those too young to remember, go read the history books and all the fine material to be found on the web as to why this is a day to be remembered forever!

    I know a bit about it as my father went into Normandy on D+3, fought through the hedgerows and was wounded at St Lo and then again during the Ardennes Offensive (ie, Battle of the Bulge).
    Like most combat veterans, Dad did not talk much but the tales he DID tell were quite engrossing.

    Interesting that two years earlier the Battle of Midway, the turning point in the Pacific, was also fought in June (4th-7th) (1942).
