  1. Interestingly, a study came out recently that indicates that the depletion of life on Earth 65 Million years ago was due to a form of Global Warming. I think it takes a sense of maturity to admit that “Man” likely does not cause how the world or nature behaves. It takes, even, more maturity to, simply, take the position that…"Heck, we just don’t know” because recorded events and statistics only cover the most minute of time periods…of which no conclusions can be drawn.

The organization you linked to is a data collection center with contributors from all across the spectrum…inclusive of some environmental (the sky is falling) groups. NASA, of course, is a big part of that organization as well. Then again, NASA is just like any other Government subsidized agency to a big extent…That requires the justification of future budgets if you get my drift.

    Just a thought…
    Cheers,

  2. You didn’t check out the information I pointed you to, did you?

  3. Not all of it…There’s a lot there. I did, however, read a little on Reef Relief, and how “man” is the cause of the depletion of ocean reefs…

In the study I was looking at they used “water temperature increase” and “man” as interchangable terms.

  4. Interesting information on a study of Antarctic ice cores here.

  5. And some more interesting stuff here.

  6. And, just in case you might have missed it, this (see the first comment above).
Somehow, I don’t think we had anything to do with that one.
Sorry about the belated trolling of your comments but I was busy when you posted this.

I agree. FYI, I used to be on your side of the fence. Until I started reading the ‘dissidents’.

  7. And do these dissidents really address the evidence? Or are they picking and choosing?

For that matter, how up to date is their information? Are they considering the whole, or only parts? Is it a snapshot of the chronology they are dealing with, or the whole picture?

Time has passed, trends have become apparent.

Man can’t be blamed for everything, but then again, Man can’t be held blameless for everything either. Sometimes it’s not a case of how much you put into the environment all at once, but of how much you put into the environment over the course of time.

BTW, I’ve been a big fan of the Permian extinction. Produced radical changes all across the board. Read up on he Siberian Traps if you ever get the chance.
