Canada is kinda like one of those people who bitches constantly at you when things are going well but always comes through in a real crisis. There are worse kinds of friends to have.
Agreed. In practice, I have consistently found that the Canadian people are far more decent than the Canadian political class. But that would seem to be true of just about all nations anywhere in time or space.
