Thanks for the link. I hesitate to point out that Lovecraft did not consider his work horror, but either dark fantasy or suspense.
Yeah, and you’ll find him in the SF/Fantasy sections of bookstores as often as in the horror sections. But I see his work as much closer to King than to Tolkein.
True, the trouble is that King has been relying on schlock for a long time and Lovecraft never reverted to that.
