This isn’t quite what one would think from the title (the author is not in any way advocating laying down arms and declaring peace). This is a long piece, about Iraq and mistakes the author believes are being made (also have been made and may be made…) in the way the occupation is being managed. By no means do I agree with all of it but it is a thoughtful piece and raises some good points. Especially about preemption. This may good one to print out and read in an easy chair if you find it interests you.
