Sigh.

If I don’t post for a while (other than evening/night when I’m sleeping), don’t panic. The winds are dying down some (and I’ve even seen blue sky once or twice) so I doubt we’re in much danger of serious damage here anymore. There are some areas without electric but ours is on so I think we’ll be ok there too. But my phone was just out for about two hours. I was getting a fast beep (all circuits busy). Since I’m on DSL, that wasn’t working either (it’s how I noticed since I suddenly wasn’t online anymore).

I’m not at all sure if Sprint was overloaded by everyone calling to see if others were safe or if they had a real outage but I would not be at all surprised if it happens again. The same thing happened several times during and after Frances so I’m kind of expecting it here too. I wouldn’t be surprised to see longer outages than this one, in fact.

Oddly enough, the phone never went out during or after Charley. I guess it’s making up for it with these two storms.

My “landline” has gone out for all 3 hurricanes. Cell was fine in all cases, if hard to avoid the ‘network busy’ message.
