[update] 3:30 am EDT Sunday. More updates here.
Note: Jeanne is now a Category 3 hurricane.
Bloggers in the path:
- Florida Cracker, who has gone out to buy more hurricane supplies. Again. She’s in Broward County, under a hurricane warning.
- Tammi at Road Warrior Survival is going west. If you’d like to know how all of us here are feeling, she has described it perfectly in this post.
- Boudicca’s Voice (Palm Beach) is boarded up and staying put, and just as depressed as the rest of us.
- Rand Simberg of Transterrestrial Musings is boarded up and trying to decide whether to stay or to go. [update]Buttoned up and staying.
- Ocean Guy (Jacksonville) is in the probable path but probably won’t be blogging much, as he’ll be celebrating Yom Kippur.
- Andrea Harris, in the Orlando area, is getting a bit sarcastic about being under a hurricane
watchwarning. - Babalu Blog (in Dade County) is injecting a bit of humor. Thanks Val! We are in desperate need of a chuckle.
- Steve at Hog on Ice, (Dade County) has his own predicted track for Jeanne. (A bit more humor here.)
- I’m in the path too (that’s a gratuitous link to my ‘natural disasters’ category).
- [update] Also see Deb’s list from Frances. It’s the same group again and she’s got quite a few I don’t have on this list.
- Added from comments
- Shutterblog in the Tampa area. Also very tired of all this. [morn update] Ok and has power.
- Room 101 who is laughing (though it sounds a bit hysterical to me…). Orlando area.
- Another Tampa blogger logs in, Mickey of Splatdot. Still has power and is updating. There’s some interesting commentary about the news services, too.
- Infosponge has been doing some descriptive blogging from the Tarpon Springs area. Go read. This one includes a kamakaze squirrel.
>Weather blogs and hurricane chasers.
- Weatherbug bloggers are headed to Daytona Beach. I’m sure they’ll be updating soon. [update: They are in place and updating]
- Eye of the Storm is tracking. The latest post (as of this writing) is here.
- Fresh Bilge is travelling at the moment but has up a real-time image for us to watch.
- Weatherblog has lots of good information. Jeanne timetable and estimated landfall here.
- Irish Trojan has a good post on The Yom Kippur Hurricane.
I, and others on the west coast, are under tropical storm warning. Looks like we’ll get hit with something, no matter where it makes landfall. Unless it turns north and stays off land entirely. Sigh.
If you are in the path, and I missed linking you, send me a trackback (it will show on the front page) or leave a comment and I’ll add you to the list. Y’all stay safe!
And thanks to the Reverend Mike (not in the path but has Charlotte County in-laws) for posting the hurricane humor email he got. As I said above, we need a chuckle.

I’m getting tired of hunkering. Let’s come up with a new word.

Y’know, at this point, I’m just bored by these hurricanes. Enough already!
I’m just going to hun… err, settle down and wait for it to be over. I’d love to hurricane blog, but I doubt I’ll have power (or cable) long enough to do so. Oh well.

I think Im more annoyed by the local TV coverage than anything else. I mean, how many times can they tell you the same thing you’ve been hearing for months now?

You guys are dead meat. Not that I’m trying to cheer you up or anything.
Try to stay alive, if only to piss off Al Gore.

We were in denial until the 11 a.m. update this morning, but we’re getting ready to join the rest of the sheep at Publix for what seems like is becoming a weekly ritual. Baaaaah.

Thank you for the link! I’m going to try to be more peppy in my postings. Last night I was so bummed out. I figure I have power and internet service for another couple hours. I’m over this. AND, I feel really bad for those folks in Port St. Lucie and Fort Pierce. Feels a bit like Sodom and Gomorrah.

Prayers and hugs for all that are in the path.
I’ll be checking in thru-out the night to see how things are.
Stay as Safe as you can, all of you!

Things finally seem to be calming down here in Tarpon Springs. I hope.
Hope everyone stayed safe…this was a pretty scary afternoon.
