If you are on MT and using Berkeley database, upgrade to mySQL already. If you have an account or a host that doesn’t have mySQL, get a new host or upgrade your account! Seriously. Those databases are easier to corrupt than a politician.
Yeah, I know a lot of people had someone else set them up and don’t have the foggiest notion what database they are using. But it’s easy to find out. Just look at your site, wherever your MT files are (usually cgi-bin, sometimes ‘mt’ or somesuch). View the mt.cfg file. If you see something like “DataSource /blah/blah/blah”, and it does not have a “#” in front of it, you are on Berkeley. Upgrade right now.

Amen. I had to reinstall completely _twice_ due to database corruption before switching to mySGL. Save yourself the pain and fix the problem before you lose any data.
