The UN is worthless.

US to consider sanctions for Sudan.

Seven of the United Nations Security Council’s 15 members are putting pressure on America to soften a threat of imposing sanctions on the Sudanese government.

John Danforth, the American ambassador, has suggested that it may be possible to find a compromise for the final version of the draft UN resolution on the Darfur crisis.

America has threatened to impose sanctions against the Sudanese government if it fails to stop Arab militia groups terrorising the people of Darfur.

Had to look around a bit to find out which seven were opposing it. I was surprised to find France not on the list. The seven opposing are: Pakistan, China, Russia, Algeria, Angola, the Philippines and Brazil. Meanwhile, Kofi wants to send more aid to Darfur, which is fine except that the militias will just come in and take it while they are killing, burning and raping. What they need is armed aid.

  2. Now they(ICC) want to investigate Uganda. Remember Idi Amin. They should start from then.

Just wanting to distract attention from Darfur, eh?
